News bites: Goldman, Citigroup warn shareholders of cyber threats

Goldman Sachs and Citigroup warned shareholders about the threat of cyberattacks in their annual regulatory filings last week, Bloomberg reports.

Security researchers are still weighing what the motives of the hackers behind security breaches on critical infrastructure were, according to The New York Times.

TV networks are struggling to crack down on Web pirates that rip copies of their TV shows and make them available for free on the Web, The Wall Street Journal writes.

IT managers are struggling to keep corporate data safe as employees are turning to mobile apps for storing that data outside the company network, The New York Times reports.

The app industry is booming, with revenue from app stores expected to hit $62 billion this year, according to The Wall Street Journal.
