News bites: Motorola Mobility to cut 10 percent of workforce

By Jennifer Martinez - 03/08/13 09:57 AM ET

Google's Motorola Mobility has started laying off 10 percent of its workforce, The Wall Street Journal writes.

Unlike in previous years, new hardware is getting all the buzz at the South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, according to The New York Times.

Facebook's revamped News Feed puts more focus on photos, which is expected to help the social network be more ad-friendly, Reuters says.

Publishers and media companies are concerned about proposals for online marketplaces where e-books and digital music are available for resale, The New York Times reports.
