Brennan: Google attacks heighten concern about national security

White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan said Sunday that cyberattacks are a matter of national security and that the administration is increasingly concerned since an an attack on Google's corporate infrastructure believed to have originated in China.

"We’re looking at these issues from a standpoint of espionage... National security is something that is at risk," Brennan said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Brennan said the risks range from private business concerns and intellectual proprety rights to government secrets.

"It’s a very complex and complicated challenge," Brennan said.
