Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio.) will become the newest addition to the House Energy & Commerce Committee, replacing former Rep. Nathan Deal who is running for Georgia governor.
Latta will serve on the Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee and the Communications, Technology and the Internet Subcommittee.
Latta's addition puts a new Republican voice on the technology subcommittee that has jurisdiction over the hottest topics of the day: net neutrality, broadband expansion and privacy rules.
Commerce Committee Ranking Member Joe Barton (Texas) announced the Republican line-up changes today.
And Rep. John Sullivan (R-Okla.) will join the Health Subcommittee, leaving the Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection Subcommittee.
Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) will replace Deal as ranking member of the Health Subcommittee.
