Shops launch effort to fight cyberattacks

Retailers are creating a new system to share information and help fight cyber threats.

The National Retail Federation announced on Monday that the new platform, modeled after a financial industry forum, is scheduled to be up and running in June. Once operational, the information-sharing and analysis center should help stores beef up their defenses against hackers.

T-Mobile campaigns against 'greedy, predatory' fees

T-Mobile will no longer charge customers high overage fees if they use more minutes, texts and data than allotted in their monthly plans, and it's pressuring the other major wireless companies to do the same.

"Charging overage fees is a greedy, predatory practice that needs to go," T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a statement Monday.

Franken slams Comcast, Time Warner Cable merger

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) wants the Obama administration to prevent a $42.5 billion deal that would combine Comcast and Time Warner Cable, the country’s top cable companies.

During an upcoming episode of C-SPAN’s “The Communicators,” Franken repeated his calls for intervention from the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission, saying the merger of Comcast and Time Warner Cable announced earlier this year would decrease competition and harm consumers.
