Kathy Griffin: Vote for Donald Trump like a vote for Gary Busey

“I’ve been to Iraq and Afghanistan, and Donald Trump hasn’t,” the comedian told ITK while in Washington at Sunday’s annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor ceremony.

“So, at this point, I’m actually more qualified” than Trump, the current GOP presidential front-runner, she said. Griffin has traveled to the war-torn countries during multiple USO tours.

The “My Life on the D-List” star, whose late father was a World War II veteran, slammed the former “Celebrity Apprentice” host and real estate mogul, saying, “I’d like you to tell Donald Trump that what he should be doing instead of running for office is getting my coffee ...

“And then he would send me one of those tweets back, which I would live for.”

Griffin, 54, didn’t stop there, calling Trump a “crazy, Amanda Bynes-like tweeter” and comparing him to eccentric “The Buddy Holly Story” actor Gary Busey.

“Basically a vote for Trump is like a vote for President Busey,” Griffin quipped. “I mean, really. It’d be like President Gary Busey. It’s fun to think about, unless you actually think about it.”
