Wearing a pair of white plastic gloves, Obama commented his task was “tougher than it looks.” He then lamented, “The Ziploc’s not zipping.”

After finishing up his sandwich-making duties and saying a default on the national debt could have “a devastating effect on our economy,” Obama noted his PB&J packing strategy was likely “a little slower than you’re accustomed to.”

He then offered an explanation for his sandwich struggles, saying, “it’s a lot of pressure with the cameras.”

SC Johnson spokesman Jam Stewart responded later in the day, saying: “Ziploc® Brand bags are easy to open and close, and great for keeping PB&J sandwiches and other foods fresh. We’re sending a supply of Ziploc® products to assist Martha’s Table in continuing their good work.”
