"Trump is a nut job" and "may get us into a war," Cher tweeted, mocking the leaders for their most recent bout of saber-rattling on Tuesday.

The singer said Trump was playing a game of "whose is bigger," adding an eggplant emoji, which commonly refers to the male anatomy.

"They're probably both the size of 'Tom Thumb,' " she added.

Cher, a vocal opponent of the president, was responding to a tweet from Trump on Tuesday night. The president was responding to a claim made by Kim that the North Korean leader had a button on his desk that could launch a nuclear weapon capable of hitting "the entire area of the U.S. mainland."

"Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button," Trump tweeted on Tuesday, "but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

Trump and Kim have been engaged in a war of words in recent months as North Korea has escalated its ballistic missile tests and threatened to strike U.S. territories.

U.S. security analysts believe that North Korea does not yet have the capability to deliver a nuclear warhead on a missile to the continental U.S.
