Gen. Odierno: Giants aren’t great, but they’re better than the Redskins.

Gen. Ray Odierno is piling on the Washington Redskins, who finished a dismal 3-13 this season.

The Army’s chief of staff, addressing the National Press Club on Monday, was pressed on his beloved New York Giants.

Odierno noted that he is friends with Giants coach Tom Coughlin and has gotten to know quarterback Eli Manning. He acknowledged the Giants, who finished the season 7-9, “have some work to do.”

Then he brought down the hammer on the hometown team: “The only thing I’m positive of is that we did beat the Redskins twice this year. I know that’s not saying much, but you got to — you got to live on whatever you got here.”

A former football recruit, Odierno joked last month on “Fox and Friends” he could play for the Giants — for one play.
