Shindig in the works for cancer-free DCCC aide Jesse Ferguson

Jesse Ferguson fought cancer, and won.  And now it’s time to celebrate.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) spokesman, who was diagnosed with neck cancer last May, will be the toast of Capitol Hill on Feb. 7.

In an email circulated to Democrats, Republicans and journalists, USA Today’s Sue Davis announced the shindig, titled “Jesse Ferguson’s triumphant return to DC.”

Davis writes, “Let’s celebrate Jesse for showing cancer who’s boss the best way we know how: with a happy hour.” She adds she is speaking on “behalf of the Jesse Ferguson Return Happy Hour Organization Committee.”

All are welcome at the Hawk N’ Dove happy hour, which starts at 5 p.m. and ends “TBD.”

We are happy to report the 33-year-old Ferguson, who has received bipartisan support throughout his battle, is back at work full time.

Ferguson told us he greatly appreciated all of the well wishes he received: “They helped keep
fuel in the tank.”

Cheers, Jesse.
