Lawmakers star in 'real life' House of Cards

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle show off their acting skills in a new video of the "real life" edition of "House of Cards."

NowThis News released the entertaining video a day before the premiere of season two of the Netflix hit show. It starts off with the fake House majority whip, portrayed by Kevin Spacey, and segues to the real Majority House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

Other members who have cameos include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Reps. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), Donna Edwards (D-Md.), Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) and Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.). Why so many South Carolina legislators? Spacey's character is a Democrat who represents the 5th District of the Palmetto State.

So who was the best actor? Tough call, but we'll give the Oscar for best lawmaker in a short video to Gowdy for his great delivery of the line, "I have zero tolerance for betrayal." Honorable mentions go to McCarthy, Edwards and Scott's furrowed eyebrows.
