Speaker: It's Boner, I mean Boehner

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday mispronounced his last name as “boner” during a press conference at the Capitol.

His intentional verbal flub happened after a reporter mistakenly called Boehner “Mr. Camp,” a reference to Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.).

“Mr. Camp, I mean, sorry, Mr. Speaker,” the reporter said, as he prepared to ask Boehner about tax reform.

“….Boner, boner,” joked Boehner, which drew a heavy bout of laughter.

Camp, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, introduced a tax reform proposal on Wednesday.

NBC News producer Frank Thorp recorded the moment on video, and posted it on his Vine account.

This marked the second consecutive day in which Boehner was acting loopy during a press conference with reporters.

On Wednesday, he called out two reporters for wearing brightly colored shirts.

“Nice tan, sir,” one of the reporters shot back.
