Hayworth headed to Newsmax TV

Former Rep. J.D. Hayworth is headed to the television airwaves.

The Arizona Republican has been named host of the news and talk show “America’s Forum” on the newly launched Newsmax TV.

The six-term congressman previously hosted a Phoenix-based conservative talk radio show but resigned in 2010 to make a failed Senate bid against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

Newsmax TV, which is geared toward baby boomers and is planning a hard launch this fall — says the weekday, three-hour show, will feature Hayworth, 55, in conversation with newsmakers and analysts. Newsmax Media CEO Christopher Ruddy praised Hayworth in a statement, saying he’s a “smart, informed, and passionate host who is not afraid to speak his mind.” Hayworth already hosts an online show for the conservative media outlet.

“With his experience in Washington, D.C., we believe he can give our viewers unique insight into how Washington works,” Ruddy said.
