State times briefing around World Cup

A State Department spokeswoman is practicing a bit of soccer diplomacy, and timing a briefing to allow for employees and members of the press to catch the United States face-off against Germany Thursday in the World Cup. State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf tweeted to her more than 11,000 followers on Wednesday night: The pivotal match — a tie or win by the Americans would advance the team to the knockout stage — kicks off at noon (EST) on Thursday.
