WE HEAR: S.E. Cupp is being considered for one of the vacant co-hosting spots at ABC’s “The View.”

An industry insider tells ITK the CNN “Crossfire” co-host, who recently revealed she’s expecting her first child in December, is being considered for the daytime talk show.

The show is reportedly on the hunt for a conservative female voice, after co-hosts Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd were apparently given the boot last month. “The View” creator Barbara Walters retired from the program in May.

ABC announced Thursday that Rosie O’Donnell would be returning to the gabfest. The comedienne had spent more than half a year on “The View” couch before leaving the show following an on-air spat with former co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

Our source mentioned Pivot TV’s Meghan McCain as another potential “View” hire. The daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is poised to serve as a guest co-host on the show next week.

The source said Cupp’s reps were in negotiations to have the conservative author and T.V. personality also appear on the show as a guest co-host in the future, which would serve as a trial run for a co-hosting gig.

ITK reached out to Cupp for comment. We'll update if we hear back.
