Alec Baldwin defends Rand Paul

Alec Baldwin, a longtime supporter of Democrats, is bashing a newspaper for reporting that Republican Sen. On Wednesday, the 56-year-old “30 Rock” actor tweeted to his more than 1 million followers:



In a Wednesday article with the headline, “Rand Paul ducks Christian summit, parties with Alec Baldwin,” The Washington Times, reported that Paul was seen “at a fundraiser Saturday with actor Alec Baldwin, after the 2016 GOP presidential hopeful bowed out of an Iowa event for religious conservatives, citing a family commitment.”

The Times story, which cited photos in the New York Post, does mention that Paul was at a “library fundraiser” hosted by Baldwin. The paper writes that, according to the Post, Paul was eyed “schmoozing for free and getting tips on where to go in Montauk for a lobster roll.”
