Facebook hires Congress Daily reporter

By Christina Wilkie - 10/27/09 11:35 AM ET

Andrew Noyes, one of The Hill’s 50 Most Beautiful People of 2008, has been hired by social-networking website Facebook as its new manager of public policy communications.

Noyes shared the good news with a few hundred of his closest friends via (what else?) Facebook.

Noyes, 29, will leave his job as a tech reporter for Congress Daily on Nov. 6 and start with Facebook on Nov. 8.

In his 2008 interview with The Hill, Noyes noted that he is quite fond of Lex, his miniature long-haired dachshund.

Lex may have to live with seeing less of his master in the coming months, as Noyes and the other two members of the Facebook public policy team ratchet up lobbying efforts in the face of promised legislation that would limit how much data websites can collect about their members. The collection of data about users’ online habits is a major part of Facebook’s business model.
