Sessions, Moran, and Davis to eat in the dark

By Christina Wilkie - 11/12/09 04:20 PM ET

Reps. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) and Jim Moran (D-Va.), along with former Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), will eat dinner in a pitch dark room on Dec. 1, when they co-chair the annual Dining in the Dark fundraiser for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Sessions' father, former FBI Director William S. Sessions, will received an award at the dinner.

According to a press release, before dinner is served, all the lights are turned out in the ballroom and visually impaired staff members serve guests their first course, leaving them to eat their meals entirely in the dark. For nearly an hour, diners use only their senses of smell, hearing and touch, as their servers help navigate through the experience.
