Grayson's 'mystery shipment' too big for UPS or FedEx

By Christina Wilkie - 11/20/09 07:50 PM ET

Rep. Alan Grayon (D-Fla.) needs to ship a package. A very big package. So big, in fact, that traditional commercial shipping companies like FedEx and UPS won't transport it.

So on Friday afternoon, Grayson's press secretary, Todd Jurkowski sent this cryptic email to his fellow Democratic flacks:

From: Jurkowski, Todd
Sent: Friday, November 20, 2009 4:20 PM
To: Democratic Press Secretaries
Subject: Shipping

Does anyone have the name of a private shipping company to make a VERY large delivery from Longworth to my District office?  FedEx and UPS won’t take it.  It’s like 4 pallets of boxes.  Thanks.
Todd

Four pallets of what??

ITK called Grayson's office to find out. The answer, said Jurkowski, is pocket Constitutions, 85,000 of them bound for high school seniors in Florida's 8th District. The House recently passed a recommendation by Grayson (shown here with a campaign supporter) that the Constitution be taught to high school seniors; this is one way to get a head start.
