Rep. Fallin weds Christensen

By Christina Wilkie - 11/23/09 02:05 PM ET

Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.) married lawyer and constituent Wade Christensen on Saturday, after a 28-day engagement. The ceremony took place at the Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City, and was attended only by family members, according to The Oklahoman.

The wedding date comes less than a month after Christensen surprised Fallin with a romantic proposal on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. Fallin said that she thought she was meeting a close friend for a tour and dinner afterwards, but when she arrived at the Memorial, Christensen was waiting for her on bended knee.

Saturday marked the second time down the aisle for both Fallin and Christensen, who have known each other since college. Now that they are paired up, a "Brady Bunch"-style big household may be in the works: Fallin, 53, has a college-aged son and daughter, and Christensen, 54, has three sons.

Hopefully Fallin's new step-sons understand that they're in for a busy year: The congresswoman is running for governor in 2010, so there will be plenty of opportunities for family appearances on the campaign trail.

But for now it's all about the happy couple, who are spending the Thanksgiving recess on a brief honeymoon to Florida.
