Sanjay Gupta, Sen. Reed, Blair Underwood all greet Prime Minister

By Christina Wilkie - 11/24/09 12:40 PM ET

There were quite a few famous faces outside the White House early this morning as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama officially welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India and his wife Gursharan Kaur to the White House.

In the crowd:  CNN’s Sanjay Gupta, actress Alfre Woodard, "L.A. Law" actor Blair Underwood, Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.), Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) and Sam Kass, the White House chef, standing in the back. Kass was dressed well for the occasion, foregoing his traditional chef's costume in favor of a dark suit.

The First and Second Ladies were also stylishly dressed: Obama wore an orange embroidered coat by Isaac Mizrahi over a shift dress with a sash. She complemented the look with an elegant up-do, low-heeled copper pumps and drop earrings. Dr. Jill Biden wore a purple dress.
