Bidens host lunch for Indian Prime Minister at State Department

A who's who of Washington are hosting and attending a State Department lunch Tuesday afternoon for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife, Gursharan Kaur.

Vice President Joe Biden, his wife Jill and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are hosting Singh, who will be feted Tuesday night at the first state dinner of Obama's administration.

Other dignatories attending include Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Sens. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Reps. Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.), Howard Berman (D-Calif.) and Jim McDermott (D-Wash.)

Celebrities and prominent Washington figures will be at Tuesday night's dinner.

The entire Indian delegation is invited to attend the lunch. The Brookings Institution's Global Economy and Development program plans to have a discussion after the meal about nutrition and school food programs in developing countries. The panel includes: World Bank Group President Robert Zoellick, Josette Sheeran, executive director of the U.N. World Food Program and Samuel Worthington, CEO of InterAction.
