Conyers spotted in a fashionable tuxedo jacket

An ITK tipster just spied a Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) wearing what is described as a black tuxedo jacket on the House floor, with a maroon long tie.

No word yet on whether there is a special occasion he is headed to, but today marks the 25th anniversary of anti-apartheid protests Conyers participated in 1984.

So perhaps the Judiciary Committee chairman (shown here in a full tux with his wife Monica) is planning to stop by a scheduled reception commemorating the event this evening.

No comment from Conyers' office on the dressy duds.
