Rep. Cao reads one Saints tribute per week on the House floor

By Christina Wilkie - 12/18/09 12:07 PM ET

Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao (R-La.) wants to know what his constituents think about the New Orleans Saints’ historic season in the National Football League (they are 13-0 so far), and he's willing to read their tributes on the House floor.

On Thursday, Cao read the first in what he says is a weekly series of constituent statements about the Saints that he plans to read in the House.

He's soliciting the 200-220 word tributes on his website, and promises that each week's winning speech will be broadcast live on C-SPAN and featured on his official website and on YouTube. There are no official guidelines, but he suggests "describing how the Saints’ wins have positively impacted our economy, helped our troops, or any other
way in which the Saints have brought a positive result to the city of New Orleans."

In closing, Cao (pictured here with his wife and daughter) asks readers to "spread the word through the Who Dat Nation.”

The Saints play the Cowboys on Saturday night.
