Local restaurateur to feature duplicate State Dinner

By Kate Oczypok - 01/05/10 05:25 PM ET

For those of us who weren’t invited to the State Dinner in November, Ashok Bajaj, owner of the Bombay Club, will feature a duplicate of the State Dinner menu Jan. 21. The four course menu will be priced at $65.

Showcases from the menu will include potato eggplant salad, roasted potato dumplings with tomato chutney and for dessert a pumpkin pie tart with pear tatin.

Preparing the dinner will be Bajaj’s team of chef from his sister restaurants Rasika and The Oval Room. Only a reservation is needed for the special menu, which will be featured at 7:30 p.m. on the 21st, so no party crashing will be needed.
