BET announces performers at awards show

By Kate Oczypok - 01/06/10 11:37 AM ET

Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, and Gabrielle Union will be among the performers at the "BET Honors," which will be taped at DC's Warner Theater on Jan. 16.

The BET network hosts the awards show, which airs during Black History Month.

This year's honorees include Whitney Houston; Queen Latifah; Sean “Diddy” Combs; Ruth Simmons, the first black president of an Ivy League institution; and neurosurgeon Keith Black -- all of whom are expected to be in Washington for the taping.

The show is scheduled to air Monday, Feb. 1.
