Candidate pledges his campaign will be a 'demon-sheep free zone"

A Califronia state assemblyman pledged Thursday to keep his campaign for the Senate "a demon-sheep-free zone."

The tongue-in-cheek announcement came in a message to supporters from Chuck DeVore, in response to a bizarre web video released by his Republican primary opponent, former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina's campaign yesterday. DeVore and Fiorina are competing for the chance to challenge Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).

Fiorina's video characterized another primary candidate, former Rep. Tom Campbell (R-Calif.),  as a wolf in sheep's clothing on the issue of fiscal conservatism. The three minute spot featured a goofy looking-man in a sheep costume with glowing red eyes infiltrating a flock of real sheep, and quickly became a popular topic on Twitter.

In his message supporters, DeVore said: "Our campaign will forever be a demon sheep free zone."
