A former Miss California who riled the political left with her comments about same-sex marriage is getting married.
Carrie Prejean, 22, is reportedly engaged to Kyle Boller, the quarterback of the St. Louis Rams.
The couple began dating in July of last year, and the proposal took place in Prejean's hometown of San Diego, according to E! News. No word yet on the wedding date.
The former beauty queen made headlines when she spoke out against same-sex marriage, which she called "opposite marriage" during the 2009 Miss USA pageant.
Her controversial statement earned her at least one fan on Capitol Hill. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told TMZ.com Prejean could be a contender in the political arena, because "people are excited about [Prejean's] convictions and beliefs."
