Reid seeks some quiet

There was a brief and awkward delay before Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) addressed reporters on Tuesday.

Reid went to the mics after the Senate weekly lunches, but behind him, Republicans were holding mini press conferences after they finished up their remarks to the Fourth Estate just off the Senate floor.

The soft-spoken Reid waited for the interviews to end, or at least quiet down amid some "shhhh" pleas. Aides scrambled to request fewer decibels from the media scrums around Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Richard Shelby (R-Ala.).

Reid then went about his press conference  without further incident.
