Clemens arraignment set for Monday

Former Major League pitcher Roger Clemens will be arraigned Monday on charges of perjury and obstruction related to his testimony before a House panel in Feb. 2008 in which he said he had never used steroids.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton of Washington, D.C., has scheduled the hearing for 2 p.m., and said he hopes that the trial will proceed before next spring.

Clemens, a seven-time Cy Young winner, was indicted last Thursday by a federal grand jury on three counts of making false statements and two counts of perjury. He is expected to plead not guilty.
