Former Sen. Dorgan to pen ‘eco-thrillers’

Former Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.), who just retired from Congress after three decades, plans to write novels he described as “eco-thrillers,” according to the Associated Press.

“Dorgan said he's writing the two books with another writer, whom he declined to name. He said the first book should be published at the end of this year. Dorgan said the books will be ‘eco-thrillers’ that have ‘a lot to do with energy’ but he won't go into details,” AP reports.

Dorgan said he signed a contract with a publisher months ago, their story adds.

The former senator knows the subject – he was very active on energy matters in Congress, serving on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and as chairman of the Appropriations Committee sub-panel that crafted Energy Department spending bills.

Dorgan has joined the law and lobbying firm Arent Fox LLC as a senior policy advisor in the company’s government relations practice.
