Inspirational melodies, tearful moments and plenty of laughs can be expected at next month's Susan G. Komen Honoring the Promise.
The Kennedy Center event next month will be hosted by NBC's Hoda Kotb, and the Komen Foundation this week announced actress Jennifer Beals ("Flashdance") and singer Natasha Bedingfield ("Unwritten") will appear.
Betty Ford will be awarded the lifetime achievement award posthumously (the award will be accepted by Susan Ford Bales, Ford's daughter). Ford was chosen because of all the work she did to help launch Komen.
Chair and Founder of Friends of Cancer Research Ellen Sigal will be awarded the Advocacy Award and actress Sarah Brown will receive the Fedex Global Leadership Award.
Attendees can also expect to see hip-hop violinist Miri Ben-Ari, D.C.'s own Denyce Graves and Clueless's Donald Faison (he played Dee's boyfriend Murray in the hit 1995 movie).
