Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) wants supporters to know he’s projected to win by four points in a race against Sen. Ben Nelson. The only problem is Mack isn’t running for the Nebraska Democrat’s Senate seat in 2012 — he’s trying to defeat Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).
While an e-mail sent out Monday by the National Tea Party Alert and signed by the congressman refers to Bill, not Ben Nelson, the subject of the message mixes up the two lawmakers: “4 Point Lead Over Senator Ben Nelson.” Whoopsies.
Mack contends in the e-mail that recent polls show he “would defeat liberal U.S. Senator Bill Nelson in 2012 by 4 points.”
He also writes, “P.S. My biggest fear is that the liberal left will attempt to destroy my campaign before I even get off the ground.”
Maybe Mack should be more fearful of being without a proofreader.
