SPOTTED: A post-New Hampshire primary who’s who of the D.C. press corps congregating in the U.S. Airways terminal in Manchester on Wednesday, trying to catch a flight back to Washington.
Some of the journos eyed waiting to board on the packed mid-morning plane to Reagan National Airport included: CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer, Cokie Roberts, Fox News personalities Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren, and NBC’s “Meet the Press” host David Gregory.
“Hardball” host Chris Matthews was also seen passing the time with some chatter. The MSNBC personality was conversing with a man who was carrying signs supporting Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Matthews, apparently in a talkative mood, was later spotted leaning across the aisle on the airplane to talk to Baier.
While Schieffer and Roberts joined passengers in the coach cabin, the rest of the on-the-go reporters flew first-class.
BlackBerries in the airport were abuzz as the crew announced the flight was oversold. While the airline offered a $450 voucher to travelers who were willing to hop on another flight, our spy didn’t see any takers among the press corps.
