Fox News correspondent feels lucky anchoring in green tie

altNBA star Michael Jordan famously wore his old pair of college shorts under his uniform during every basketball game, singer Meatloaf always travels with two teddy bears, and Fox News Channel anchor John Roberts has a lucky item of his own: a green tie.

ITK hears that Roberts donned the striped, pistachio-colored neckwear for his first time guest anchoring the network’s “Special Report” on Wednesday.

The T.V. correspondent, 55, was filling in for the show’s regular anchor, Bret Baier.

It’s not the first time Roberts has cozied up to the anchor chair. He hosted CNN’s “American Morning” for years before joining Fox News in 2011.

But a lucky tie wasn’t the only thing that may have given Roberts good vibes on Wednesday. We hear the anchor downed a Red Bull before the show.
