Two very different musical acts are poised to perform at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
The non-partisan organization Got Your 6, a campaign led by the entertainment industry that works to change the conversation around American military veterans, announced Monday that it’s lined up artists Willie Nelson and Flo Rida for a pair of fundraising events.
“Always on my Mind” singer Nelson, 79, is set to take the stage during the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., next month.
Flo Rida, known for his high-speed rhymes on hits such as “Wild One” and “Low,” has been tapped to rap in September at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.
Got Your 6 Executive Director Chris Marvin said in a press release about the concerts, “With the support of this amazing line-up of artists, our two concert events this fall will bring a national spotlight to the urgent need for programs that bridge the gap between military service and civilian life.”
