Romney's VP pick a grunge music fan

By Judy Kurtz - 08/11/12 11:03 AM ET

altIf Mitt Romney and his new running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) win the election in November, we might soon hear some grunge music being blasted from the vice president’s residence.

Ryan, who won the Republican veepstakes on Saturday when he was introduced as Romney’s pick at a campaign stop in Norfolk, Va., has disclosed he’s a big fan of the genre of music that was uber-popular in the 90’s.

The House Budget Committee chairman — who is often seen sporting a pair of headphones — revealed to CNBC “Squawk Box” host Joe Kernen last summer what kind of tunes he was playing on his iPod before the House voted to raise the debt ceiling, saying, “I was listening to Filter. I listen to grunge.”

A sampling of track listings from the alternative rock band include: “Hey Man Nice Shot,” “White Like That,” “Take a Picture,” and “I Will Lead You.”
