Romney ad star Kristi Yamaguchi 'hasn't decided' who to vote for

altAlthough she appeared in an ad supporting Mitt Romney, a publicist tells ITK that gold-medal winning figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi “hasn’t decided whom she’s voting for.”

Yamaguchi is one of several Olympic athletes in the ad released earlier this month by Romney super PAC Restore Our Future who tout the Republican presidential candidate’s involvement with the 2002 games in Salt Lake City.

“Mitt Romney brought a huge sense of hope,” Yamaguchi declares in the Restore Our Future video.

Susan Madore, who handles media requests for the athlete, tells us in an email, “Kristi actually has not endorsed Romney for president. Her appearance in the PSA she shot was merely talking about his leadership for the Salt Lake Olympic games.”

Saying that she doesn’t know of any plans by Yamaguchi to attend either the upcoming Democratic or Republican National Conventions, Madore added that when the 41-year-old Olympic champ decides on her presidential pick, “I fully suspect she won’t make those plans public.”

According to records on OpenSecrets.org, Yamaguchi has donated $2,500 to the Mitt Romney campaign this election cycle. She also gave $2,300 to Romney’s previous presidential bid in 2007.
