Comedy series about White House gets premiere date

By Judy Kurtz - 10/30/12 05:09 PM ET

A comedy about a kooky first family living at the White House now has an airdate.

NBC will premiere “1600 Penn” on Jan. 10, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series premiere date comes about a week before the presidential inauguration.

The comedy series stars former “Dharma and Greg” actress Jenna Elfman, and Bill Pullman as commander in chief. Pullman has big-screen experience as the president — he played a fictional POTUS in “Independence Day.”

NBC describes the show as, “ 'Modern Family' meets 'The West Wing' ”
