Gubernatorial campaign touting classic 'Forrest Gump' line

By Judy Kurtz - 11/05/12 02:44 PM ET

WE HEAR: A North Carolina candidate for lieutenant governor is using a bit of cinematic inspiration to boost his campaign.

Dan Forest is taking a classic line out of the 1994 film “Forrest Gump,” starring Tom Hanks, and has plastered “Run, Forest, Run” all over bumper stickers and his website.

The Republican told a local paper in the Tar Heel State earlier this year, “When I get elected, you can call me Lt. Dan.”
