SPOTTED: Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe looking jolly and carefree as he talked politics and laughed on Tuesday afternoon. The onetime Virginia gubernatorial candidate held court at the head of an at-times-boisterous all-male table of 10 at The Palm in downtown Washington. Although his party was aiming to turn states blue on election night, McAuliffe was sporting a different shade, wearing a rose-colored tie as some members of his party drank a bottle of red wine.
The D.C. steakhouse proved a popular choice for political types on Tuesday. Former Sen. John Breaux was political-party-color-appropriate with his neckwear choice, donning a blue tie as he dined with three companions at a table next to McAuliffe. The Louisiana Democrat was heard making some election-night predictions and asking about where festivities that night were being held.
