Anthony Weiner resurfaces on Twitter
For the first time in more than a year, former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) is taking to Twitter.
The ex-congressman resigned in June 2011 following a sex scandal in which he tweeted a lewd photo of himself, becoming the first congressman to step down due to a Twitter slip-up.
The tweet is the latest in a series of small steps that have taken Weiner, 48, back into the public eye. In June, he opened up to People magazine about life with his wife, Huma Abedin, and the couple’s young son.
When asked about buzz that he may be considering a run for New York mayor, Weiner replied, “I can’t say absolutely that I will never run for public office again, but I’m very happy in my present life. I’m not doing anything to plan a campaign.”
