Report: First lady gets first look at 'Downton Abbey' before US premiere

Michelle Obama thinks “Downton Abbey” is so smashing, her office requested an early peek at the latest season of the British drama, according to a United Kingdom newspaper.

Season three of the popular show is already airing across the pond, but doesn’t premiere on PBS in the United States until Jan. 6.

The first lady’s office reportedly got in touch with the series’ producers. A show source tells the U.K. tabloid The Sun, “They were very polite and we were more than happy to sort out some DVDs for them to send over. Obviously we hope they keep the spoilers to themselves as our US fans may not know about ... well, you know what!”
