Although Ryan, a noted Packers fan, said he’s pulling for legendary Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to “go out on top” in the Feb. 7 NFL championship, he said the one-loss Panthers look too formidable to overcome.
“Yeah, you know I would love to see Peyton Manning go out like John Elway,” Ryan said in an interview with The Blaze published Saturday. “On top, winning the Super Bowl. I would love to see that.
“But it’s going to be really hard to see them defeat the Panthers,” he continued.
“To be honest, I just want to see a good game. My guess is the Panthers win it because they are so good, but it would be nice to see Peyton go out on top like Elway did,” he said.
Former Broncos quarterback John Elway won Super Bowls for the Broncos in his final two seasons.
