Bush family reveals nicknames, gives political advice

By Megan McCourt - 11/16/12 04:50 PM ET

There’s a secret in the Bush family.

According to Jenna Bush Hager, one of the twin daughters of Laura and George W. Bush, someone in the family is a fan of reggae musician Bob Marley and is a “secret Rastafarian.”

Jenna says her mom, Laura Bush, is the one who likes to “Stir it Up” and jam to Marley’s tunes.

Jenna Bush made the comments in Austin at the Enduring Legacies of America's First Ladies conference hosted by the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library, according to Reuters

Laura Bush also attended the conference, where she and her daughters chatted on panels with other children and wives of former presidents.

Jenna also revealed the family nickname for her grandmother, former first lady Barbara Bush. Those close to her know the pearl-wearing patriarch as “The Enforcer.”

Barbara lamented that she was ready to move on from this year’s election, saying “People spoke. Move on, get on with it. I want to do other things and not to be ugly."

Though she had endorsed Mitt Romney, Barbara avoided talking politics, but did offer some advice to both parties.

“They are going to have to compromise. It's not a dirty word.”
