'Frisky husband,' teenage daughters keeping Mary Matalin busy
Just because the presidential election’s over, it doesn’t mean Mary Matalin’s life is any less crazy.
The Republican political consultant, who makes up one-half of a bipartisan power-couple with her Democratic strategist hubby James Carville, tells us in an email she’s not worried about staying busy until at least 2016.
“Girl, I got more than I can handle every year, not least two teenage daughters and a frisky husband. I am a blessed woman,” writes Matalin.
The former assistant to President George W. Bush is still recovering from the Bipartisan Policy Center’s action-packed Annual Political Summit. Matalin co-hosted the fourth annual event along with her husband last week in New Orleans.
As a board member of the Nature Conservancy, Matalin was delayed by a field trip to the largest flood plain reconnection project in the country. Luckily, we hear Carville, her political and life partner, was able to hold court until she arrived.
Matalin says one of her favorite moments from the across-the-aisle summit was a “distinctly partisan” political party lightning-round game. While there is no word on which team dominated, Matalin says, “Even after a whole day of kumbaya, we were instantly ‘ourselves!’ ”
