Romney tops 'Least Influential' list

By Judy Kurtz - 11/27/12 02:06 PM ET

Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is topping one end-of-the-year list — but we’re guessing he won’t be too pleased by this dubious honor.

GQ magazine awarded the failed White House contender its number one spot on its “Least Influential People of 2012” list. And the gloves are off in the magazine’s description of the ex-Massachusetts governor: the men’s glossy mag writes, “Voting for Romney is like hooking up with the last single person at the bar at 4 a.m.”

And that’s not the worst of it: “The only successful thing he did this year was embody every black stand-up comedian’s impression of a white

person.”alt

While actress Amanda Bynes and pop star Madonna fill out the top three people on the list, GQ is bipartisan in taking its “least influential” swings.

Michelle Obama comes in seventh on the countdown. The magazine’s humor writers poke fun at the first lady’s efforts to get Americans to eat healthier with her “Let’s Move!” initiative. “She even wrote a book about growing her own vegetables, which many people bought as a passive-aggressive way of telling someone they’re fat. And yet we’re still all hopeless corpulent s****.”

GQ also takes PBS “NewsHour” host Jim Lehrer to task for his role as moderator last month in the first presidential debate between Romney and President Obama. Lehrer, whom critics said didn’t interject enough during the showdown, comes in at number 23 on the list.
