GOP Rep. McCarthy to host ‘Lincoln’ screening

It’s movie time for Rep. Kevin McCarthy and fellow GOP members.

The California congressman is poised to host a screening of the Steven Spielberg-directed flick, “Lincoln,” on Thursday, McCarthy’s office confirms to ITK.

The film, which has been the subject of tons of Oscar buzz, stars Daniel Day Lewis as the nation’s 16th president.

McCarthy isn’t the first lawmaker to give the movie about former President Abraham Lincoln a starring role in Washington. President Obama also screened the film at the White House earlier this month.
