Biden attends opening of DC Costco
Vice President Biden went to the mecca of bulk goods on Thursday morning — making a pit stop at a just-opened Costco Wholesale store in Washington.
The VP stocked up and filled his cart with children’s books, fire logs, a 32-inch Panasonic television, and an oversized apple pie, according to the White House press pool report.
Biden did indulge in what’s undoubtedly the best part for many a Costco shopper: the free samples. According to the report, the veep was also seen eyeing the watch counter, at one point looking at a $1,200 timepiece and making a call to his daughter, Ashley, saying he needed to “get some guidance.”
A White House official says Biden and his wife, Jill, have been members of Costco in years past and their $55 memberships were reactivated on Wednesday ahead of the vice president’s visit there.
