'Veep' actor spotted at event honoring newly elected military vets
Two worlds collided Wednesday as a Hollywood actor who plays a D.C. insider on TV joined newly elected members of Congress for a reception honoring military veterans.
Matt Walsh, who plays the director of communications for a fictional vice president on HBO’s “Veep,” mixed and mingled with the soon-to-be lawmakers at an event held by Got Your 6, an entertainment industry-led nonprofit that focuses on military awareness.
Twelve new members of the 113th Congress have served in the military.
Among those spotted at the reception at a Capitol Hill residence: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), congresswoman-elect Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), congressman-elect Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Got Your 6 Managing Director Chris Marvin, and “Veep” Executive Producer Chris Godsick.
